Understanding maths anxiety
European data and experience from different university systems.
Completed Unite! project
Together with European partner universities, we explored maths anxiety, transitions into STEM degrees and innovative approaches to mathematics education.

Research with impact
A Europe-wide online survey, mainly among university students, showed that maths anxiety is not a local issue. It can become a powerful barrier to productive learning. The data and exchange with partner universities produced insights into how anxiety develops and how teaching can foster safety, curiosity and self-efficacy.
The project is complete. Its findings continue to inform Konomondo, tutor training and our open learning resources.
Outcomes
European data and experience from different university systems.
Transferable best-practice approaches from workshops and teaching observations.
Further development and internationalisation of an open maths bridging course.
